Bali

Last week I joined the Telkomsel group for a little tour around Bali. Not a bad trip, but gosh, about two-third of them are heavy smokers. Almost couldnt take it. The hotel wasn't that great either, but its livable. Food? nah not great at all.

Our first destination was Jimbaran for dinner. It was very cool, dinner with music of the sea. It was right at the sandy beach. The tables were mainly lit with candles. Anyways, things got uncool when it started to rain. Oh well..

Pretending to be a first timer, we all went to a souvenir shop. Many traditional Balinese stuff was there, including the coconut shell bra. Outside the shop, about 10-15 people were offering us many kind of things for cheap. Shirts, accessories, toys, etc.

Eh?? Bali has a zoo? what the heck. Its a tiny zoo, with many kinds of animals. But you know, its a zoo. Like every other zoos out there, it has monkey, crocodiles, birds, bla bla bla

Ok, this was pretty cool. Do you know that Japanese thingy, its a hollow bamboo, when filled with water, it will topple to one side and all the water poured out, then will return to original position, then filled with water again, and so on..? yea just like me you probably seen it but dont know whats it called. This guy right here has that as a penis. So all day long we can hear him flapping his stick and knocking it onto the wood.

Some random shots.

The next cool thing was rafting. Too bad I just had a worm crawling underneath my skin a couple of days before the trip. Honestly, what the heck is a worm doing underneath someone's skin? Its exploring like its trying to find America. The solution? ChloroEthyl is supposed to be sprayed on the skin containing the tiny worm, and freeze it to death. I did and its dead.

Enough about worms. The rafting place was in a natural river, deep in the valley. I think the stairs down was almost equivalent to 20 stories building. Its like climbing the steps that never ends, trying to be a monk, searching for the true meaning of life..

Did I say the step never ends?? These women were climbing it, with the rafts on their head, step by step till they reach the top. Dude i couldnt even carry myself up properly, but these elderly women did with over 50kg on their heads.

Yay! The beach!

So... I learned something new on this trip. Balinese believe that there are two powers in this world - the good, and the evil. Everyday they will make offerings to their gods, to satisfy them. In most houses in Bali, they normally have a little "temple" outside/inside their homes, for them to make offering. So every morning they will prepare flower and incense, and place them on their home temple. But what about those offerings you see on the ground, outside their shops/houses? Thats an offering too, but that was meant for the evil power. Aha, so they feed the evil power so that they are full and no longer gonna bug them.
